Run across this. No I don't believe people with DirecTV hates puppies. Just a parody that marketing for TWC came up with.

Sadly there are people who will fall for that, logical or not.

I think this is a misleading ad.

DirecTV DOES love puppies, as long as the puppies are shown on RSN's, PPV's, or LiL's. The only puppies that DirecTV hates are those on new National HD.

I thought it was important to clarify.

Fact they want $7 per HD BOX and $10 per HD DVR BOX +

HD NET and HD NET MOVIES is $8.95

Oh lordy... clearly meant to be funny. I can't believe someone's suing... or threatening to do so... over it.

The thing I notice about DirecTV, they are real sensitive about their HD line up. Every time a competitor makes a swipe at DirecTV concerning HD, DirecTV threatens to sue. I think it's funny and in this day and age to have stuff like this out here, it promotes the spirit of competition.

Whats worse is the followup video:

where a kid calls the wrong network (he called DISH) and got a CSR in India, who though he was saying Dishnetwork EATS puppies.....

That is pretty funny.

I have never had Time Warner but from having Comcast for many years I do know that they charge large amounts per month for each HD box. So in my specific situation with many boxes I would be paying around $100 extra a month just for the hardware from them. :eek2:

That are funny.

I've been hearing a lot of HD radio advertisements like that. They come on, and say you should get hd radio instead of satellite radio, because the satellite radio people hate /puppies/kittens/america/freedom/misc. endearing item/etc. Where did this bizarre advertising method come from?

This is old, they (TW) have be playing this add here in Wisconsin during this Summer and they also flipped it to be against AT&T's U-Verse, that is big here as well. I have not seen this add run in weeks so maybe it's ran it's course - as it got very tiresome!

Most advertizing is easy. Miller or Bud. Coke or Pepsi. Toyota or Honda. Verizon or AT&T. Basicly equal products, so you come up with a catch phrase, a tune, or some pretty girls and that is your ad. You are a "advertizing executive". Wow. Mom is proud.

But then your boss comes in and say, congratulations, we got the account from the cable company. Now it is your job to come up with something good to say about a product that is inferior in every way to its competitor. Good luck.

"Inferior in every way" seems to be a bit of a stretch. There are +'s and -'s with each service, IMO.

A little add-on to item 3, when they die it also easy to dispose of them. (Try flushing a Bull Mastiff.)

As for the ad, (and lawsuit) just another example of people taking humor the wrong way.

I'll go for a ride on this "faulty logic train". Given the above established fact that D* has several porno channels, and the fact thathttp://www.dbstalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=16441&stc=1&d=1227270681

I would think that suggests that D* hates not puppies, but kittens.

Dogs are great. They're great security dogs for when you're away. You have HDTV? Have dogs? Perfect! Thieves stay away! They're perfect for Deaf people. They alert me of presence just outside the door.

Walk them? Walking is good for you. Train them and they're perfect for hot dates. Bring in a hot babe and impress them with tricks.

Tire? I'll never get tired of dogs. You're obviously DOG HATER!! LOL
