I just installed a Dish 508 receiver (replacing my Dish Player 7100). My problem is this. In my old system I was able to use the TV / VCR button on the remote to switch to the DVD player. I have the following pieces of electronics in the mix.
Panasonic DVDRV-31 is connected via Audio RCA jacks to a dolby home system. The S-Video cable is connected directly to the TV set. This is the configuration Panasonic recommends in their booklet. The Dish 508 receiver is connected via cable to the TV. In the past I could click on the TV / VCR button with DishPlayer to switch to the DVD player. Now I cannot. On my remote I have programmed the TV button and I am using the VCR button to control the DVD. In both cases I can turn on and off the appliances. I am using the AUX device to control a VCR device. When I click on the AUX button and switch between the TV set and the VCR it moves from the program to the VCR screen. When I click on the TV / VCR button on the remote after clicking on the VCR button the screen always remains on the program , not moving to the DVD player. I used the recommended code in the 508 book.
Any suggestions?
