I need to replace my 880 with another Harmony remote. A new 890 would set me back $350 at BB, I really don't think I spent that much for the 880. So now I'm looking at the One (on sale at BB for $199) or the 670.
Any suggestions?
I'm planning on getting the remote today because juggling 4 remotes is wearing thin.

I have a 676, I think was the predecessor of the 670. Works quite well, people here have spoke highly of the 670. It certianly is more affordable than the 890.

That is one that I'm looking at.

the reason for the 890 having a heftier price tag is that it is RF as well as IR.
Although it is exactly like the 880 in every aspect; it also offers the ability to control equipment that is either hidden within a closed cabinet or housed in a remote location.
Only the 890 and the harmony 1000 offers this ability.
If RF isn't required; then the harrmony one is probably more to your liking since stepping back down to the 670 will remove some customizational features that you may have priorly used on the 880.

Yea, I don't need RF. I really like the 880, but the ONE looks nice. I wonder how many activites is shown on the touch screen.
I'm sorry the 880 isn't available, at least it isn't at BB or CC around here.

After looking at the ONE more closely, it doesn't look that the buttons are as Dtv friendly as the 880/890 are. Are the Dtv functions, such as record, skip etc, on the touch screen?

I have the 670 and the 880. I like the 670 better for everyday use (have it in the living room). The buttons are easier to work with and the layout is better. I use the 880 in the HT, because it's not used as much (generally we're just watching movies - not channel surfing) and I like the fact that it lights up when picked up (since the room is always dark).
Also, here's a couple of Black Friday prices in case you want to wait or buy from there and price match next week.
Best Buy - Harmony 550 ($60)
Circuit City - Harmony 880 ($99)

Why not contact Logitech and see if you can warranty yours? I would! I also would buy the 890 instead of ther "one". I just like the feel of the 880. Also I wouldn't buy it from BB. Go to Amazon and see if you can get it for less. I got my 880 for $119 brand new on Amanon. Then pay the freight to get it in 2 days. This is how I would do it.

I think the harmony 880 can still be found on online stores like amazon and others. Due to my puppy thinking my 880 was a chew toy it now has a chip in the display I will have to decide which harmony to get between the 880 and one if it dies.
You can get the 880 for $95.00 new or $75.00 refurbished from Amazon.

I show Amazon with a price of $137 (unless you buy from an independent seller).

It does all functions the harmony 880 did. the record button is a hard coded button on the remote; however the other functions you mentioned are on the touchscreen itself. Just as the 880, there can be many pages of functions per device to flip though.

Hmm. You are right. It changed in between the time I posted that price, and Just now as I checked it again.

I'll give Logitech a call, but I won't get hopes up as the remote is three years old. BB and CC do not show the 880 on their web site, so I will check out Amazon.
Thanks.

I'm partial to the URC remotes because of the macros.
I use the MX-810.
My 2¢.

Called Logitech, I'll hear back in two - three bus.days. I might get a new remote or I might get a deep discount.
Checked Amazon and the new ones are about $150+.
I'll wait till Logitech gives me a call.

My 880 had some problems more than a year after I bought it and Logitech exchanged it without a whimper. I bought mine it from Amazon for much less than list, but Dell often has them at a better price than anyone else.

They replaced mine WAY after the warranty expired due to the common charging stand problem. I think I had my 880 about 3 years or so.

Refurbs are still available for $74.99. I picked one up last month. It looked brand new, not a scratch, chip or dent. Only difference was it came in a plain brown box and not a plastic clamshell. I actually picked mine up on a Gold Box deal for 69.99 shipped.

Umm, it is true.
Let me point out the key word in your post for you: REFURB.
I was talking about new units, which he originally claimed were $95. Of course refurbs are cheaper. They're cheaper for any product. That was not the point of my post, nor is it the point of 99% of posts that list pricing.

Unfortunately, it's not a charging stand issue. The remote will light up, but the screen is a solid blue, the remote won't control any of the components, it will respond to the software updating the firmware, and it does act as if it is charging, but that is all it does.

You did, thanks for the refurb idea.
First, I'm going to wait till I hear from Logitech, and depending on what they have to say, I will look into the refurb, anything to save money.
Refurb does not equate with bad, even Dtv sends out refurbs for replacements.

You may have allready tried but did you remove the battery for a couple of mins. Its worth a try if you did not.

Yup, did that, in fact when I told the CSR about everything I did he said there was nothing else, that I already did everything he was going to have me do.

Mine are acting up Richard.. How did you go about replacing your stand.
OK, now you're on the hook, on YOUR recommendation ordered the refurb from Amazon. It better be good! :lol:It's here, looks brand new, programmed and working, just got to get used to it.
They played a little trick on me though, put TWO stickers on the display.
Pulled the first one off and the second was still on there with all these residual lines on it from the first one. I thought the screen was bad for a while.

Mine are acting up Richard.. How did you go about replacing your stand.
Because the recharge stand problem is a known issue, and has been for a long time, Logitech will replace it, even if out of warrenty.
With my issue the CSR offered to send me a new recharging stand, but that was not my issue.

Looks like you might have already placed your order, but I have the One and am pretty happy with it. All the major DTV functions are hard buttons. Things like LIST, color buttons and DASH ('-') are soft buttons on the screen. The only gotcha (as you probably already know from being a Harmony user) is the press and hold features (grrrrrrrr...) of the D* remote.
