dish mod 4000 mod to accept IR

Is there any method to make this reciever accept IR.Its a reciever I want to keep for my own reasons.Any ideas-thanks

Thanks for the web site.It says that dish 4700 and 4900 has Ir,will these front pa boards interchange with the mod 4000.?with out to much hassle? Maybe can find one of these scrap units. thanks!

I peformed the Ir upfit as described on the carlton bale website with 100% results positive,worked the first time. Bought parts from digikey ($11.00) 2 sets of components in that price.now my IR works with on my mod 4000 dish reciever. extremley happy. The up fit is so easy to do!
