Number of receivers sold/in service

Does anyone know the number of 721,501/508's that have been sold or are in service. I'm just curious as to the size of our community.

Any answer that you get would be a pure guess. DISH Network would NEVER release that information.

Perhaps people should ask the retailers how many they sell and see what one can come up with in a ratio between the 721 to 501/508.

The number of 721's can't be that large, I've only seen IRD numbers that begin with 3902xxxx or 3903xxxx - if there are no other ranges thats only 20000. If anyone has seen another prefix for the 721 post it - this will give us a pretty good idea of how many are out there. This assumes all 10000 in each range are assigned to the 721 - they may not be, but likely are.

The 721 is still in beta so E* doesn't want a lot of them out there. Just enough to get a good statistical sample of techincal types who can help debug it before the marketing flood gates are opened.
