Difference in receivers

I'm just checking the American Satellite Page (sponsors of the Survivor: Amazon contest", and was wondering what the difference between the following two systems:

* Hughes HDVR2/(2)GAEBOA receivers
* Phillips DSR7000/(2)DSX5500 receivers

Can I still expand the hard drive beyond the factory supplied 35 hours? The systems include a triple LNB dish.

Well, the Phillips DSR7000 has not been seen in the wild, as far as I know. It is the upcoming DirecTV DVR that is a clone pretty much of the HDVR2. Yes, you can expand space by modding the unit.
