Hello,

Is channel 931 missing for everyone, or is it just some quirk of my setup?

Its the mono classical music channel. Try 971 for CD Classic.

Classical Ambiance has been gone for about a week now. For months Classical Ambiance and Concert Classics have been the same thing only difference being one's in mono and one's in stereo. Concert Classics was removed a few weeks ago, then brought back last Wednesday when Classical Ambiance was removed. In essence no real content has been removed, since both are the same thing.

Thank you for expressing your concerns and interest in the DISH Network.
Customer input is an important tool in our efforts to continuously improve
the quality of the DISH Network service.

Unfortunately a decision was made to remove channel 931 from the service.
You may want to switch to channel 971 currently called Concert Classics
which is currently playing 1600/1700 classics at this moment. It is my
belief that channel 971 was a simulcast of channel 931 so hopefully that
will meet your expectations.

Classical Ambience was essentially a Baroque music channel. I had not noticed that it was the same as Concert Classics for a few months, but that would make sense, as a few months ago, it stopped being exclusively Baroque and started to include any period.

So because these music channels are counted as channels does this mean we have Americas Top 149 now? :D

Actually it's more like America's Top 177, not including PPV Sports/Events, NHL CI, NBA LP, Alternets or barkers. But including PI and shopping. :D

Maybe they can add a old time radio channel like Yesterday USA (http://www.yesterdayusa.com).

The last time I listened to this channel it didn't fit the description above at all ... it consisted entirely of very short, "lightweight" classical pieces - certainly no Tchaikovsky or Beethoven (unless it was a short piano or chamber music piece). Have they actually revamped this channel?

On this here computer, 931 has become the ultimate "Hearing Impaired" channel(to quote TNGTony). It has song titles but no sound. :)

It doesn't seem like YUSA *wants* to be on a commercial service:

http://www.yesterdayusa.com/more/About.htm

[Unlike traditional Radio Stations that broadcast directly to members of the general public, Yesterday USA only transmits  it's powerful  signals directly to broadcast satellites and/or to organizations that stream audio on the internet!  Therefore, our actions DO NOT constitute a "Public Performance" of any kind!  YUSA is NOT licensed by The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and as a result, is NOT subject to any FCC rules and/or regulations!  Persons and/or organizations who choose to tune to the output of the Satellites that broadcast our signals, and persons and/or organizations who choose to visit Web-Sites that voluntarily stream our audio; do so at their own personal risks!

I wonder if agreeing to broadcast on Muzak/DISH, or on a sat radio service like XM or Sirius would cause legal issues for them?
