I recently took a cruise in the Mediterranean. We stopped in Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, & Spain.

I saw lots of dishes over there. Most seemed to be single LNB and some were kinda big. Like 36+ inches.

Occasionally I would see what seemed like one large round LNB with four lines coming out of it

They also seemed kinda flimsy but that's just a subjective impression without any real basis.

It certainly seems popular. Maybe more so then here. In some instances I say row upon row of homes with dishes driving past neighborhoods.

Anyone know anything about satellite in Europe?

Mike

I think that the most popular sats in Europe are Astra (SES) 19.2 East, and Hotbird (Eutelsat) 13 East, for Turkey i would say Turksat 42 east, and Greece is Helios. Spain is using Astra and Hispasat 42 West, Italy is using mainly Hotbird 13 East with the Sky bouquet. UK is using Astra 2 at 28 East. France is using mainly Astra 19.2 East and Atlantic Bird 5 West.

satellites over there use the old fashioned KU signal that is not DBS, it needs a bigger dish, and is much weaker. Kinda like the signal from 95
