Will Dish Network EVER carry the NFL Sunday Ticket, or has DircTV bought it "forever"?

 

Any word on the Ticket's availability on C-band again this year?

The NFL has contracted with DirecTV to be the small dish provider of Sunday Ticket for the next five years. The Sunday Ticket package may be available on digital cable in three years.

Supposedly, the NFL has also shuttered its service to C-banders. The NFL office laid off most of its staff, and I think that is a prelude to have DirecTV assume responsibility.

Directv will begin to assist switching C-Band customers over in May....Offering some type of deals to convert them....They wanna do it early so that what ever C-Banders want it will have their D* systems installed by the start of the season.....Part of their contract between D* and the NFL was that Directv would indeed have total exclusivity for the next few yrs.....no C-Band.

Well, that really sucks! I've purchased the Sunday Ticket every year on C-band from day one. FYI, if originally cost $90-95 in the first year. ZI guess this is the thanks I get for being a loyal customer. :(

$199.00 for new subs this year.....on D*.

Well as a CBander, I am not going to pay $195 plus install DTV.

I'll spend the bucks to add SC instead to my 4DTV HD setup. Looking at their website, I see I'll get about 7 NFL games/Sunday plus any CBS and ABC HD games.

I really hope this is a joke! They just priced themselves out of the ballpark for me. I guess it had to end sometime.

What they really should do is have each game as PPV, just like a movie. $4.99 per game would be fine by me, I never watched all those games anyways.

Amen to that! I'm still using a Houston tracker VIII from 1988 on my C-band. BTW, excuse my ignorance, but what is SC?

Probably means Star Choice, because the same Motorola HD decoder can be used with it and 4DTV
