View Full Version : DISH Network Streams Towards Microsoft

Since the spring, I’ve heard (and sometimes overheard) from several sources that DISH Network would also be coming to the Microsoft Media Center experience. However, the info was often contradictory and muddled. On one hand, it sounded like we’d have LAN streaming from an existing DISH Network box (the VIP211?). On the other, I’ve suspected we’d also ultimately see new tuner hardware - similar to the DirecTV solution.

Ah, that's your problem ... you're confusing this story about DISH Network with DirecTV.

my problem ? Are you guys dreaming ? 211 and Xbox ? Any Dish receiver with composite or S-Video output and IR blaster will link M$ MC to it.

Sorry, I don't visit the D* forums as I have no need to go there. I did not see this info in any of the E* forums.

Any Dish receiver with composite or S-Video output and IR blaster will link M$ MC to it.We can dream ... and with Sling's "SlingCatcher (http://www.slingmedia.com/go/slingcatcher)" universal media player I see that dream as being too far away from being here. If they are going to set up their receivers to Sling to their media center why not Sling to Microsoft's Media Center?

The technology isn't that far away. I've been dreaming of my ViP-622 DVR streaming to my ViP-211 since before they arrived in my home. It is nice to see it potentially closer.

What M$ testing up there - there no 0.0001% guarantee we will see it.
I would better bet on Dish implementation !

Actually, that picture telling nothing to Dish owners. Perhaps energize some overestimations. :lol:
