Use vegetable oil as it dont freeze and will stay on the dish longer...
Works great fror your car door seals to keep them from freezing up where you cant open the door where moisture froze the seal to the door metal..
Try it out and you will see what i mean, better than wd40 or silicon spray,Spam out does them, but vegetable oil last longer..

Never seen snow in summer, just use some Dawn Power scrubber spray and wash off with water hose.
Want ants, roaches, slugs out of the house?Use vegetable oil thats been used already and spray around the outside of your house on the ground & block, they stay away.
Just search for insect control with used vegetable oil, should toss it right up for ya.Get mine from a friend that has a Famous Recipe hut,LOL,told him and he uses it around a huge house(214' L X 36'W to 30'W.).

I do know that WD40 displaces water... that's what the W and the D are for. Does it freeze? Heck I don't know, I live in Southern California

Rain-X works much better, lasts longer as well. I put 2 coats on my slimline. If you are having a lot of trouble with SNOW ACCUMULATION I would suggest "ICE ZAPPER Dish Heater". They have two models depending on where you live.
WD-40 is best for removing adhesives, rust proofing, lubrication, not snow displacement, IMHO.
All the other bio-based ideas won't work.

NEVER NEVER use vegatable oil. After a little while it actually becomes sticky, not to mention all the dead bugs that are stuck to it. I have had to replace quite a few dishes and if you put it on th LNB it puts a thick glaze on it and reduces signal.
Good luck

If snow is a problem, the ONLY reliable solution, besides brushing the snow/ice off with a broom, is a dish heater. Sprays are a waste of your time and can be bad for the equipment.
