I've had an HR21-100 (currently running 0x29b) for almost a year and it just started failing using the HDMI interface. It has worked correctly before, but now the HDMI connection has no audio/video. The component and composite connections work with no problems.
I have swapped the HDMI cables with the cables off my working HR20-700 with no change. I've done several reboots (both from the menu and red button resets) to see if it changed anything and the screen works until after the "Almost there . . . A few more moments" screen and then goes black. I've changed the connection from going through my receiver to straight into the tv. I've also tried a different tv and the HDMI connection continues with no audio/video after the initial boot up screen. Since it consistently shows something on boot-up I am hopeful that it is not completely failed and won't need to be replaced (this would be the second replacement HR21 since the first one stopped responding to remote control signals). Again, the component and composite connections work without problem, but I need this DVR to be connected via HDMI.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
