I bought several DVDs and updated my logitech media list for the changer in which I put the DVDs. When I programmed the remote I noticed that the media button was not working - When depressed a list of DVDs was not available.
I was told by Level 1 Logitech support that Logitech was removing the 'media' feature for DVD changers! Luckily level 2 Logitech tech support confirmed that this was not the case.
In any case, Level 2 tech support stated that there was indeed a problem with the media list programming and that they were looking into the matter and there should be a fix within 72 hours.
DO NOT update your remote if you use the media list function unless you absolutely need to, for basic remote functionality for example.
I will post here when the issue has been resolved by Logitech.
Also, I cannot ensure that the problem is isolated to only my remote model - Harmony 890 w/ RF extender, nor whether it is limited to my specific changer (Sony DVP-CX985V), however the media list functionality does still work with respect to my DirecTV HR20s.
UPDATE: Logitech confirms that there is an internal problem with their compiler - not a customer software/firmware issue - and a fix will be in place sometime "mid winter". : (
