ESPN2's score ticker

I find it quite annoying, even more so now, as it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the screen and you can see the tv picture flash just below it. Whenever I'm going to watch anything on the deuce for more than a few minutes, I have my own black bar I cover the sports ticker up with.

Progress isn't always progress..

I hate those damn crawls.

You know, back in the "dark ages" (1981), my cable company used to have one channel devoted to givign a quick recap of sports scores and headlines. If you wanted something quick, there was where you went.

Now EVERY DAMN CHANNEL wants to put something OTHER than their programming there... It started with ESPN, then TNN made it worse and I watched a movie on Disney for the first time in ages and EVERY 10 MINUTES they had to remind me of what was coming in 7 days!!! AND THEY PUT IN COMMERCIALS (I had thought that their evening movie was still commercial-free)..

Pathetic.

These additions ought to be encoded into the video like closed captioning. Then viewers could pull them up when they wanted to know something.
