? about local HD channels....

I received a pull-out in our local Charleston, WV paper informing me that local channels in our area are now available in HD from Directv...contrary to what the local cable channels have been advertising.
Living only 30 minutes from Charleston and recceiving local Chas. standard def. feeds only, I called customer service to see why I wasn't getting them in HD also.
They asked my what county I lived in and I was told I was not eligible for HD locals in my county....which does not make sense!
Why would I be allowed to receive standard def but not high def?!?!
I'm sure they have their own line of logic, but it misses me!

The HD channel spot beams are pretty narrow, so perhaps you're not quite in the transponder footprint to receive those channels from the satellite.

Do not believe Charleston WVa has HD locals or a time frame for release.

As the second largest DMA w/o Directv HD locals ( behind #1 Lexington Ky.) one would think this would be activated sooner rather than later, but only speculation.

Could it be a mistake or confused with DISH Network.

They are not on DirecTV in HD and no schedule has been announced to add them.
