I know there were 5 last year. I think they base it on a percentage of votes or something (finalists have to have a chance of winning). Apparently this year, it was strictly a 3 man race.

Unless voting is really tight, there's no real reason to invite more than 3. Obviously if they only invited one it would give it away :) Inviting only 2 makes guessing only slightly more difficult. Inviting 3 is good. Beyond 3 it just seems borderline cruel to those 4th/5th guys who probably already know they don't have a chance.

At this point in the season I think most folks have narrowed it down to 2-3 guys unless there's a #1 clear standout. Not sure who I'd vote for this year if I had a vote. IF you considered Tebow got one last year, that might sway you towards one of the other guys... but since the aware should be based upon this season and ignore last season... it makes things tougher since Tebow & Bradford will be in the title game whereas McCoy is left out in the cold.

Tebow is my favorite as well, but this year is tougher than most, I think they all are fantastic.

If they require the winner to have a brain....it will immediately eliminate 2 of the finalists. You can figure out which of those they are. :D

Clearly, they do not require the winner to have a brain or Peyton Manning would have one and Ricky Williams would have more space for storing pot around the house. ;)

Personally, I was leaning against Tebow repeating early in the year, but his performances the last few games has me back on his bandwagon.

It's my opinion that both Oklahoma and Bradford were helped by running up the score. can't blame Bob Stoops for doing it if the voters reward it.

OU ran up the score once this season and that was against Missouri. Bradford was taken out very early in previous games, so much he missed at least 2 full games.

I didn't really think about this at the time I originally read the article in the quoted link Saturday night.
But,when it was first posted, whoever posted it on the FOX Sports site actually had Tebow listed as the winner. The typo was obviously corrected very quickly. :sure:
