We have 2 HR20s. My wife wants me to record the new Indiana Jones movie in HD, which is currently offered in PPV, so that she can watch it later. I've looked on DTV's web site but can't find the answers to these questions:

-Is there a way to set up the recording through online ordering so that it will be recorded on both DVRs, or are we limited to only one or the other?

-Both DVRs are connected to a phone line. If I select the movie through the on-screen program guide, I have the option to "Record" or to "Buy/Watch." If I choose to "Buy/Watch" a future showing, will it not record? What is the difference between these two options?

-Is it correct that if I record the movie, we will have 30 days to watch it, and will not be charged until we begin watching it?

-Is it correct that once we begin watching the movie, we will have 24 hours to finish, before the movie is automatically deleted?

TIA for any answers.

And don't forget that no matter which option you choose, PPV movies automatically delete themselves 24 hours after you begin to watch them.

On a DVR, they are now considered "24 hour rentals".

They don't delete themselves on my DVRs 24 hours after watching. They do charge you a second time if you watch it again after 24 hours.

Strange that they behave differently on different customer's equipment.

You could record it on both if you wanted, but you will be charged separately for playing back. Each DVR has its own 24-hour timer on a PPV, and this would create separate charges.

Buy/Watch means it will show without being recorded, yes. This should SHOW the movie on all receivers if you order through the website, but you won't be able to record it.

The whole point of all of this is to bring PayPerView back to actually Paying PER VIEW. It took a while, but the movie studios eventually figured out that people were ordering PPV, recording it on their DVR, and getting infinite views per 1 "pay", which they felt harmed their sales and was not what PPV was originally intended to do.
