View Full Version : splitting?
I only have 2 receivers. I recently upgraded to a hd-dvr. I moved my original hd receiver h21-200 to my daughters room which used to have a sd receiver. I had a line split into the old sd receiver that went into the kitchen, and worked fine, but the h21-200 won't work that way. Are the newer receivers made so you can't do this? Or is there something I need?

Are we talking a split on the output here? If so you need a RF modulator which will do RCA>coax.
Yes, I just want that receiver to output to 2 tv's.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Splitting the feed from the dish to feed two different receivers is a different issue. :)
I don't know about the H20, but the HR2x DVRs have all outputs active simultaneously. I would be surprised if the H20 is different but I could easily be wrong. Someone with an H20 will be able to answer that part of your question soon I am sure.

The HD receivers don't have a coax output, so you'd need an RF modulator to convert one of the composite outputs to coax. They are about $25 at any electronics store, and usually meant to add DVD players to TVs that don't have line inputs.
Here's one at Best Buy:
