All,

Have been seeing a strange issues the last week or two.. Here's the scoop..

I have D-11 receivers.. 2 HD receivers.. and 2 HD DVR's.. For the past year, after I tweaked my dish, I get 90-100 for every sat and TP (unless a spot beam).. I have a slimline with the 5 LNB's.. to a Zinwell 68 switch..

Last few weeks, noticed a few 771 errors on tuner 2.. Read the threads about a possible bad NR.. But. this was happening on my HD receivers as well.. My D11's show 92-100 on every 101 TP (except the few that come in as zero). Then last night at a party.. HD movies and hocky games came in perfect.. Sunday ticket was perfect.. XM didn't work (771) and some other channels as well.. (mostly SD ones)

It got to the best of me tonight.. I unhooked all the cables at the Zinwell.. plugged in my first HR20.. same thing..all sats but 101 come in 90+.. 101.. some in 50's.. 60's.. 80's on a few TP's..

Unhooked it.. checked all connections (not from dish since cold and snowing) but all cables in the house.. all tight..

Hooked up the standard def receivers.. 101 is 93+ on everything..

Hook up one of the HR20's.. same crappy 101.. Then I think.. maybe the cable.. ran one from the zinwell to the back of the unit.. hoooray!! everything is 93-100!! But then I see I didn't plug in the BNC.. do that.. and crappy signals again. try another BNC.. same issue.. take out the BBC on other HD receivers.. all is perfect on the 101..

Doesn't sound like the cables form dish to inside nor the LNB's since I'm getting everything perfect on the 101's there.. plus they are peftect without the BBC's...

Before I got nuts.. what could cause this???

Thanks ahead of time!

By BNC I assume you mean BBC (or B-Band Converter) module that is on most of the HD receivers.

You might have had a surge or something that knocked them out, that would be one of my thoughts. You should be able to get free new ones sent to you from Directv if you call and ask.

Oops.. yep. that's what I meant.. I was typing my post and trying to get it done with the wife yelling why she cannot watch her food network :) So yes, meant BBC's..

What are the odds that all 6 in the house got damaged at once? I find it odd that all could go bad (I hooked everything back up and went to each BBC and unplugged it.. and the 101 came back to life at 90+)..

WIth it on.. every HD tuner gave different results.. some were 40+ on everything some had tons of zeros.. very weird..

So, if you think 6 BBC's could go out.. I can certainly try and see if Directv can ship me 6 :)

Seems odd, but at the same time also seems like the main issue in your system considering it works without them.

I have never personally had any issues with my BBCs, but there have been lots of others that have had issues with them around here.
