Description
DIRECTV is in search of a Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering organization. Responsibilities include the specification, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of near-realtime, embedded, user interface software applications utilizing Java, C++, C, and POSIX. The software developer will be responsible for solving intriguing problems with our latest embedded technology, and partner with other team members, customers, and vendors throughout the entire project lifecycle. The engineer will also be responsible for taking the lead on small individual projects.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science with 10 or more years of experience is required. MS in Computer Science is desired. Experience developing software applications with Java, C++, C, MFC, and/or POSIX in a Unix/Linux environment. Experience utilizing formal development methodologies is preferred. Knowledge of Flash, MPEG transport, video/audio coding, and programming with TCP/IP, multithreading and distributed application development is highly desired. Candidates should possess excellent written/verbal communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
