View Full Version : Swap live TV
I have searched but havent been able to find how to get this to work on the HD-DVR (HR20)?
If you are talking about switching tuners (like you did on a Tivo DVR), you can't do that on the HR2x series. They have 2 tuners but they only have one live buffer. The DVR will automatically select which tuner to use in any given situation.
See the tips and tricks thread for the HD DVR about some workarounds that get you close to that feature.

To elaborate on carl6's answer: Search for DLB (Dual Live Buffers) and you'll find the workaround and plethora of threads about it.

If you want top switch from live channel to another, say channel 22 and then channel 4 while the two programs are on, first tune to one of the channels then tune to the other channel then you can use the previous button in the lower right of the remote.
A better description as to what you are tryng to do might help get a better answer if thiis one doesn't help.

Tcusta answered my question. I was referring for the ability to watch live TV on two tuners with both having the 90 minute buffer. Much the way the TIVO unit had it (30 min vs 90 though).

This generation of HDDVRs has been around for a little over 2 years, and many of us have missed DLB...... However, we also believe.....SOON!!:)

What is this 'DLB" of which you speak??;)

Dual Live buffers The ability on tivo to hit "down" and go to the other tuner that is recording 30 minutes worth of buffer.

Don't forget about the HD TiVo carrot that D* has hung in front of us for late 2009 (more likely 2010).
