H21-100 Audio issues

The audio level between HD and SD channels is HUGE!! HD quiet, SD loud. Receiver is connected using HDMI cable to LG tv. Is this a common problem or is there an easy fix???

There's no easy fix, other than keeping your fingers on the remote's volume control :)

Seriously, this is actually normal. The Dolby Digital audio used by the HD channels provides more dynamic range than the standard audio on the SD channels. Therefore the average volume level tends to seem "softer" on the HD channels, but the peaks can be quite loud.
