Video on Demand

Just got a second 722 yesterday set up was normal but was showing no video on demand listings in the guide. After it did its 3AM update it only shows 2 Video on demand listings my other 722 shows about 10. Dish is trying to tell me the VOD updates are only downloaded to the guide once a week on a random day, is this true?.

Not true. VOD downloads are happening virtually every night as long as your receiver is in standby and no timers are firing to interrupt. It might take a few days, though, to catch up to what your other receiver already had downloaded.

Both are kind of right. Dish only puts a couple of movies in the stream each night, but it puts some in the stream every night, so it can take a week or so before your receiver is *fully populated*.

Thanks for the clarification... That's what I was meaning to convey, but did a bad job of it. Different movies appear to be spooling different nights, but you should get something if you leave it off any one night... probably takes several nights to get everything that you would already have on an older receiver already installed.
