Let me start by saying I've never been signed up for or qualified for dstance HD locals however, every so often the NY or LA HD feed of a network will show up for a while. For instance, I was watching football on my local HDFox affiliate and then decided to channel surf. To my surprise the East Coast Fox feed was coming in somewhere in the channel 80 range on the MPEG2 channel. No other MPEG2 or MPEG 4 distance HD locals were coming in at the same time.
I've seen this happen a few times before. Is there any reason why these channels occassionally become "unblocked"? Not really a big deal, just my own curiousity.

CBS HD DNS 390 and NBC HD DNS 292 were both on for awhile Saturday 12/20. They both went off a short time after I noticed that they were on.
Some people on the site say tha they unblock them occasionally due to a certain area having issues with their locals. I have seen them on from time to time myself.
And from reading posts on here it seems the east coast feeds get turned on far more often than west coast feeds.
