Both my HR20-700 and the other 2 non DVR HD units in our house have been suffering from horrible breakups on the MPEG 4 CONUS channels the last few weeks, especially Fox New HD and ESPN HD.
Here are my current numbers:
Transponder 1-8: 28, 56, 18, 45, 28, 54, 18, 43
9-16: 22, 44, 15, 34, 29. 46
That was on Tuner 2 of my DVR
Tuner 1:
33, 57, 20, 44, 28, 56, 20, 45, 30, 54, 23, 44, 30, 52
The other 2 boxes have similarly low readings. I'm thinking either a bad LNB or the dish is out of alignment. Any other ideas on what it could be?!!
Thanks

Sounds like the dish is out of alignment.

That's what I'm thinking too as they only go down in windy/rainy conditions. All other times I have no problems. I'll call D* Monday for a truck roll. Glad I have the protection plan.
Thanks!

ewww... those are disgusting readings.
definitely get that truck roll. don't let them leave without low 90s/high 80s across the board on your 103(c) and 99(c) TPs.
If they try to get away with something like 90-84-91-85-90-84 even/odd disparity on 103 and 99, tell them to go back and use the fine tune adjustments.

Truck is rolling out on Tuesday afternoon. Got so bad I had to call them today. Read them my signal readings and right away they asked if Tuesday was OK for me to have a truck out. 103{c} isn't bad it goes from 76 to a high of 85 but they bounce around.

could there be Line of Sight issue with tree growth causing it?

Nope no trees near it. They'll check out all possibilities when they are here alignment or LNB. I'll have them check all.

Just an update. Everything is great now, installer came and ended up replacing the dish with a Slimline. Not sure what the problem was with the old one. Just asked me to dispose of the old one myself as he was not supposed to replace the older dish unless there were problems with it.

I was told to swap out any old sidecar for a slimline problems or not.

This guy said he wasn't allowed to that's why he asked that I dispose of it myself, he said if he took it back he'd be in trouble. No worries I got a much better picture now with no pixelating. :)

An installer told me that he was under the same orders.
