Monoprice HDX-501 rev2.1 (since 10/2007)

1 - DTV HR21-700 new (since 10/2007)
2 - TiVo Series 3
3 - Yamaha DVD Player
4 - Onkyo DVD Changer
5 - Sony PS3

Into a Panasonic TH50PX75U

For at least the past 2 months (0x0290) when I turn on the TV, the HR21 would sometimes not display video/audio while the other inputs worked fine.

An RBR would usually solve the problem which is annoying since it takes forever for it to boot up.

Is it a problem with the TV, Switcher, DTV software?

Seems that none of the Monoprice switches are HDMI 1.3 certified (correct me if I'm wring).

Seems that none of the Monoprice switches are HDMI 1.3 certified (correct me if I'm wring).I have that exact same switcher and it works great with all 8 of my HR2x-x00. I have everything but your exact model. I doubt that should matter.
You absolutely should not have to reboot that box to handshake hdmi thru that Monoprice 501. I would try everything but that again.

First start with switching inputs on the switcher remote. I almost never even have to do this.
I usually turn on tv, then dvr, then Yamaha AVR (2 channel hdmi switcher) and the monoprice (2) are powered off the stereo.

I used to leave switcher on but got tired of all the lights. Also try different turn on patterns, swapping cables,
trying a different port, trying a different tv! (Hope its not the tv).:p
You should be getting a new software but I doubt that will help.

I just bought a spare 501 and it has a sticker that says Rev 2.1. The manual says "Input Video Signal Specification v1.2".
I interpret this to mean the version of hdmi hardware. It will pass 1080P so ver 1.3 isn't all that valuable yet.
It may prevent the newest bluray lossless audio from passing but dolby digital sounds just fine.

I have had that exact problem, finally gave up. The 1.3 certification isn't the problem though since Directv doesn't use it.
