I have a question about media share. According to “the book” that came with my HR22-100 after the network is set up “Music, Photos, & More” should show up on the Menu list.
I have the following system on my home network. Vista Ultimate, XBOX 360, Windows Home Server, Server 2003 and a few others.
I assigned a static IP address to the HR22 and can download movies from DTV but “Music, Photos, & More" never shows up in the Menu. I can see the HR22 on my network so what gives?
Do you have a media server running on your network? Unless the DVR sees a media server the menu item will never pop up.

I thought the XBOX and Vista Ultimate were media servers. I did find some info on using Windows Media Player 11 that I'm going to try tonight. Is there any way to get the XBOX working? Thanks for the help.

The XBOX is a media client, as is your DVR. WMP11 is a server, however you may need to adjust the firewall settings on your computer to allow the DVR to access it.

Try PlayOn/XBMC. I'm using PlayOn to stream Hulu and Netflix to my HR-22.
