Directv says I need a land based phone line for NFL Sunday Ticket

Are there any alternatives? I have DSL at my house, will something like Magic Jack or VOIP work?

I had Sunday Ticket this season and i do NOT have a Land Based phone

I've had MLB EI the last 2 seasons with no phone line connected to any of my receivers and have had no problems.

You can still order it without a phoneline. No problems with that, they will "make an exception" they would say but no problem if you dont have one. You wont have the ability to order PPV with your remote. VOIP should work with the recievers

i've had sunday ticket for years without a phone line hooked to my dvr's or receiver. same with extra innings and center ice!

I had Sunday ticket this year and have never had my receiver hooked up to a phone line. Heck the only thing I've had is cell service so nothing to hook it up to if I wanted to. It is networked for DoD and other things tho.

None of my receivers have ever had a phone line connected...and I've had NFLST ever since switching to D*, it's the reason I switched.

i never had a phone line for sunday ticket either worked fine for me

Just an FYI, anyone with an HD DVR can use their Internet connection in place of the phone line.
