which channel will have best HD video quality of 1/20 inauguration? (ice fishing)

Which two channels will be most likely to have the best HD video quality
broadcasting the 1/20 inauguration swearing-in ceremony? (any HD channel
that is carried via DirecTV) NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, CNN-HD, or Fox-HD?

I will be out of the country that week(ice fishing in Norway, actually)
and want to program my HR20 and HR21 to record it....

Since it's not a fast-action event (which 720p is best suited for) I'd go with your 1080i broadcasters (NBC, CBS, CNN). From there, it's a personal preference of on-air personalities.

I'd choose an OTA station. But using standards from the town halls:

CNN will throw a bunch of crap up on the screen
FOX PQ will be soft
NBC, CBS, and ABC will be dependent on the multicasting situation in your DMA.

Don't forget other news stations in HD.

Something else to consider, wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the events are covered by "pool" cameras... cameras shared by all new organizations. This gives them the ability to greatly expand coverage without having to buy or lease a lot of new equipment.

That is what is being said. Due to the amount of press that will be here, the press will have extremely limited space to work in and around.

Matter of fact, they just announced today that all four bridges from VA going into the district will be closed to all traffic except for designated vehicles. Metro is opening more parking for those using the rail and buses.

HBO signed an exclusive deal for coverage of part of the inauguration events, but it sounds like they'll be broadcasting them for free. We'll have to watch for more info on this...

Haven't heard that one yet. Actually all the buzz talk here is about the amount of people who will be here, where you can and can't go, what you can and can't bring, transportation issues and security and more security.
