Just out of curiosity is the 1080p VOD compatible with Vizio LCD's?

I don't believe Vizio TVs accepted 1080/24p input signals until the 2008 models, but 1080p VOD is compatible with ANY TV, though if the TV doesn't support 1080/24p, then the receiver has to convert it first.
Also, this year Vizio released some 120 Hz refresh TVs, and they accept 1080/24p input signals, but they are NOT capable of displaying the content at a 5:5 refresh rate, so they still do a 3:2 frame repeat ratio. Thus, arguably the main reason to go 120 Hz was wasted.

Where did you get your information about them not being able to display at the 5:5 refresh rate?

All TVs that do a "multiple of 24" refresh with 24p content:

This list is based on responses from the manufacturers (read the extensive thread) and tests by end-users.
Also, look at any current model on Vizio's website. The most expensive ones have 120 Hz refresh, but if you look on the description or specs tabs, you'll notice that there is absolutely no mention of 1080/24p support. If it was supported, they'd be talking about it. Their silence speaks volumes... :)

Just looked at the Specs for Samsung's LN55A950 which is a 55" 120hz LCD and it says nothing about 1080p/24p support.

The waste is not necessarily the case, if it does what it does well....and it does, I have the TV. Here is a review that gives it pretty high marks in that area as well. http://www.televisioninfo.com/content/Vizio-SV470XVT-LCD-HDTV-Review-660.htm
(http://www.televisioninfo.com/content/Vizio-SV470XVT-LCD-HDTV-Review-660.htm) For the price you pay, and properly calibrated, it is a pretty sweet TV. :eek2:
