Sylvania Remote Codes for RC64

I am trying to help a friend of my mother in law's and thought I was going crazy when I couldn't get basic volume commands to work on the D* remote. She had a really old remote that came with her D10, so I ordered an RC64 for her "assuming" that would work, and tonight I walked my wife through all the codes over the phone and NO GO! I found some old threads dating back to 2007 that said there were no codes....anything changed? I don't have her exact model number, I believe it is a 19" Sylvania that she just bought last week. Any help is appreciated!

Sylvania TVs are manufactured by Funai, along with at least a half-dozen other brand names. Try the codes for Emerson, Magnavox, Orion, GE, and Funai, and one of them will probably work.

is this a flat tv i try the 991 1 code channel up no go

This is ironic. I purchased a Sylvania LC195SL9 yesterday and I have the same problem with an RC64. The D* site has a 'direct' code match which doesn't work, none of the Funai or other Funai product codes worked either. I tried the "991-1" for over 10 minutes with no sucess. Any suggestions???

I have not had any luck with getting new Sylvania or Emerson tv's to program. It is only on the new models, I am suspecting the manufacturer has changed the codes and D* doesn't have the codes yet.

Please search Edmund's posted messages. A month or so ago he said that no Emerson LCD HDTV codes were in the database, and that a universal remote would be required to "learn" the signal. This may also indicate that some Funai LCD HDTV's aren't in the database.

I'm not sure if the Funai codes will work or not. I am going to her house tomorrow to try and get the remote to work. My wife called Sylvania tech support and the lady right away said "Funai codes will work, Funai makes that TV". I haven't been able to confirm that yet. I will report back.

Well, no luck at all with the 19" Sylvania! I tried all Funai codes on D*'s website, and I even found the sticker on the back of the tv that said Funai manufactured it. Just for giggles I tried codes for Magnavox, Philips, Orion, Emerson, Memorex, Zenith, Sansui and Symphonic on top of all Sylvania and Funai codes. I couldn't believe it, I felt so defeated:mad:
