Greetings:

I have a multi switch (http://nelan.com/store/htm/multiswitch.html)
and a Dish 500 dual lnb dish (1 for 110 and 1 for 119). I installed
the switch and ran the co-ax from the lnb's to the inputs on the
switch as well as the coax from the receivers as diagramed.

The receivers detect the switch, but not all of the inputs from the
dish (i.e. sometimes it sees just the 110 and sometimes just the 119).
I realized after I purchased the switch that it wasn't intended for
the Dish 500, but was wondering if I can make it work? Would in-line
amplifiers help? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim Doll

You need to invest in SW-21 switches to combine the signals from 110 & 119 onto a single coaxaial cable for each receiver. The SW-21 is the cheapest DISH branded switch you can use. Most other switches will only work on DirecTV.

What you have is a 4 Way Multiswitch. What you need is a DISH Network Multidishswitch.

Your switch will only feed one LNBF to up to 4 rcvrs. The E* switches feed 2 or 3 LNBFs to 2 or 4 rcvrs.

Thanks for the responses:

If I purchase a sw-21 switch, I would run both lnb's into the switch and run the other end out to the multi-switch?-timdoll

How many receivers do you have?

If you only have one you take an output from each LNBF, connect them to the inputs os an SW-21, and feed the output to your rcvr. (That's exactly what I do.) The 4-Way multiswitch is not needed.

If you have a 2nd rcvr you get another SW-21 & repeat the process. That's all there is to it. (Until you decide you need another dish or more receivers.)

I have three receivers, but I'm really on concerned about two of them. If I have a twin lnb (1 lnb for 110 and 1 for 119) how would I run the 2nd sw-21 if both lnbs are going to the first sw-21?

If I were to do 3 receivers, what would the process be?

Thanks again,
