Cable-television executives, facing criticism over skyrocketing subscription fees, will tell a Senate committee Tuesday that they are merely passing on higher costs from millionaire athletes and television networks that play hardball to promote new channels.

I have a solution. Make the damn sports fans carry the burden of higher costs from "millionaire athletes" and leave the rest of us out of it!!

The irony of it all is that the bureaucrats are pretending that they're upset that I'm paying too much for cable/satellite but a good number of them think I'm not paying enough taxes. Perhaps that's it: they want my satellite bills lowered so they can have more of my tax dollars. They throw around figures in the billions without flinching an eyelash but they are somehow concerned about my 39.99? Gimme a break.

word. i just want my ESPN Deportes next year with UEFA Champions League live every other week. is DISH latino going to have that channel?... ever?
