My dad is having issues with his dish install. He just moved and now he inherhited a house and so he is moving again. Dish told him he did not qualify for dish mover and they could not do anything. So he went out and found a dish 1000.2 for a great price and decided to try installing it on his own. That did not go so well. So he is wondering if there is a way to get a dish tech contractor out when they are not busy and do a job for him.

I told him i had no idea how to solve his issue so i am hoping someone here can.

Thanks

Call a local Dish retailer. They will do the install for a price. Get several "bids".

If you ask and do not receive, hang up and try again. Even if your dad does not qualify for a free dish mover, Dish cust. service should be able to set up a Dishmover (for a fee).

NOTE: if you are successful in getting a Dishmover set up free of charge, its probably too good to be true. (Cust. Service might just set up a Trouble/Service call (implying that there is a problem with the Dishmover recently done) and change the address on the account. Should this happen, the tech who comes out may not be able to complete the work because of the incorrect work order. So...expect to pay something.

A possible loophole in the system: if your dad has been considering an upgrade (adding a TV, getting HD or a DVR) then this would be a good time to do it. It may get him a reduced rate on his upgrade, plus allow cust service to set up a dishmover at the same time.

A final thought: if the new house isn't too far from his current house, and he was happy with the last guy out, he can try calling that guy to see if he is interested in a side job (assuming he left his phone number).
