About 2 weeks ago my Master Guide started posting wrong times for the channels 303-399. These channels, as an example, indicate that all programs are from 4PM to 6PM starting at 4PM. Even if they are half hour shows. At 5PM the the span changes to 5PM to 7PM. I also can't see any new information past the 2 hr span if I scroll. All other channels that are not in the 300's indicate correct times and I can scroll ahead for a day or so. Now I have two very old Sony SAT-B3 receivers that I'm very happy with as they give me excellent images on SD programing. Both receivers indicate the same bad programming information times in the 300's, so a receiver can't be at fault. It's hard to believe that my Sony's aren't compatible with the Guide data being transmitted as all the other channels outside the 300's indcate everything properly.

Has DTV changed something recently beginning about Jan 1st?

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's a known problem and DirecTV engineers are working on it. Something changed recently in the Guide Data stream that these older Receivers don't like.

Thanks for the reply!

Now I know it's just not me!

I will be changing to HD receivers this summer after I put a new roof on the house. I gues it's time for these SONYs to go as somewhere down the road they won't be compatible, but they sure have a nice on screen channel information display compared to the current recievers and that is why I kept them so long.

I don't know if this is related to the timers in the master guide or what, but yesterday my DVR recorded only like 4-5 minutes of the shows on ABC during prime time, from 7pm to 11pm (4 indiviual timers set), even though the guide showed it had recorded the full hour for each program! I was so angry because I wouldn't watch the shows I expected to be there.
I am a recent DirectTV customer and I must say I'm disappointed with the performance of ALL the equipment, my HD reciever in my bedroom always has to update itself everytime I don't use it for a day or two, and that takes 5 minutes or more. The HD DVR is always cutting out, pixelating and recorded programs zip to the end when I skip ahead more than a couple of time in a row. These glitches are definately affecting my satisfaction with the prices I'm paying for this service.

These are not normal problems. If you are a very recent customer (90 days I think) the installation and boxes are under warranty. Call and have your entire set up looked at.

If you are not under warranty, and don't have the protection plan, you'll want to do some debugging first. The people here on DBSTalk are very good at troubleshooting.

The first thing I might check if I were you is power issues. The bedroom DVR shouldn't be rebooting. (Does it actually say that it is downloading new software, or is it just rebooting?) The other problems with the recordings could be power or signal issues.

Your problems are not likely related to the OP's, since he has older equipment and you likely don't. If you want help troubleshooting, start a new thread. Include your signal strenths on at least the 101, 99c, and 103c satellites, both tuners.
