We'll need some details here. What are you providing a source for? From where?

I don't know what you mean by v-cables. One thing I can tell you is that a RF modulator will provide the worst signal of all possibilities.

Nautrodaumus predicts that he means Video Cables.

in that case S-Video is best for standard def, followed by Composite, followed by RF

I get it. "a v wires" = A/V cables. Yes, these are better than a RF modulator.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the order is (from best to worse): HDMI DVI Component (Y/Pr/Pb) S-Video Composite RFIf you want to purchase cables, go wtih Blue Jeans or Monoprice. Just say no to Monster Cable.

If I recall, aside from the fact that it was never geared for 1080p, DVI was superior to HDMI ...if a bit bulky.

Thanks for that link. Very informative.
IMO, if you don't need to have the audio and video in one cable, then component is as good as HDMI for short distances.

How does component hold up with an AV receiver with component switching? Of course, this depends on the receiver. And, I've read that receivers with HDMI switching can have problems.
