I noticed they have started to add the year to the title. This was the only feature I missed from music choice.

That's actually happening on XM, so I assume it's translating through to the XM music channels on DirecTV.

how do they figure what year....cd release yr ? single release yr ?

They read the year printed on the CD they are ripping to MP3?

so then the year could be wrong because a cd could have come out in july 1983 but a single off it not released until may 1984.

I've been seeing the years on the "decades" channels for quite a while now, maybe even over a year. They seem to be fairly accurate -- i.e., it'll actually say "('68)" for a song that was originally released in 1968, even though the listed CD is a best-of that came out in 1992.

Haven't seen it on any other channels, although I mainly listen to Sirius XMU, and pretty much everything they play is from the last couple of years anyway.
