Hello there. What's the best way to contact D* about incorrect OTA guide data on my HR20-700 for our PBS-HD Channel 18.2 in Fresno, California?

Channel 18.2 used to be based on the national PBS-HD feed, but in the last few days it switched over to match the local PBS feed. The guide data that comes through my HR20-700 is therefore incorrect and this has messed up some DVR season pass recordings, etc.

Should I just call the main D* customer service number, or is there an email/number that might be better to reach them at to let them know about this?

Thanks!

Directv gets the guide data from Tribune Media, who get the information from the station. Changes like that usually get corrected within a few days, but if you contact the station they can probably speed up the process. Tribune also publishes the schedules on zap2it.com. If the same errors can be seen there, there is a feedback page at http://www.zap2it.com/services/site/zap-feedback,0,6935396.story.

Thanks for the information. I just emailed the station as well to let them know of the issue. Hopefully this gets fixed soon (as well, hopefully we'll get this HD feed through D* directly so I can ditch these rabbit ears!)

The guide data for Fresno PBS-HD is off by 3 hours. The guide is showing EST and the Station switched their programing to PST.

I might add that there are a LOT of full-power stations that, now we are getting closer to the drop dead date (17 Feb of course), are making last minute changes in their transmissions, up to and including sub-channels (type/number/operations) AND OTA frequencies, that are affecting folks ability to receive the OTA signals.

Since none of the settings are changeable by the user, we'll all have to wait for Tribune (and DirecTV) to update their system(s) to maintain user ability to receive these signals. Hopefully, they will do so, especially for those stations that they currently do not carry via the satellite(s).

The best thing to do is contact the station. If you let them know they are losing viewers as a result of this, they will put the pressure on DIRECTV for you.

Talk to your local station's Engineer in Charge....if you are nice, he may well just contact Tribune to straighten the mess out for you. It has worked for many of us in different markets, and it worked for me.

Try to talk to this person directly on the phone, not email. Emails have a tendency to get ignored or put on the back burner. If you talk to a "real" person and show them the respect they deserve, a "connection" may form that carries with it some implied responsibility to follow up for you.

I even got an invite to come down to the local station for a guided tour from the engineer! (the problem existed for over a year, and was corrected inside of ten days, btw)
