Bird Bath
I did that with an old Primestar dish:D
With the D* dish you could secure it to a tree and use it for

paint it black and aim it at a neighbors house. make it evident you are aiming straight at their most used room.
stand out next to it with headphones on and a remote in your hand and stare at them. if they come out shake your head somewhat furtively then quickly duck away.
this will get a reaction.

Whew! I thought maybe you were having problems with the gold-plated dish of yours, Curt!
How about using it as a birdbath?

Seeing as how it's a (mostly) parabolic reflector, it would make a great spotlight reflector. Simply smooth it out with something like sandpaper, coat it with a highly-reflective coating (like aluminum foil or that safety tape stuff), and mount a light at the point where the LNBs would sit and aim it into the reflector.
This works well the other way around, too, making for a great solar BBQ. Again, make it nice and shiny, aim at the sun, then put a hot dog or marshmallow where the LNBs would normally be.
Damn science fair projects... /muttering

Only one thing to add:
Every time you walk in front of it, bend down to walk under the beam that is radiating from it

that does sound interesting. perhaps add a rotor at the base so that the dish can rotate, and then use it to attract Flying Saucers/

good point, and if carrying anything use it to help shield your head :)
