Is there anybody use Chinese coax cable? It is really cheap but do not know if the quality is so promising as commscope or belden.

I need cable for installation.

MCM Electronics has some good prices "sweep tested" cable for "satellite" use. Don't know the country of origin, however.

Saw it in sales flyer, they have changed web page for the better but sorry, I cannot find the link for the particular product.

Brak (Tomsoundman's avatar) is from West Virgina? That explains a few things. "That story scared the pants off me...guess I better put my pants back on."

Use the best Quality stuff available, which indeed is Commscope or Belden, the same wiring your cable company uses. This is extremelly important especially for shielding and signal losses over long distances. Some of the cheap Radio Scrap cable picks up ingress oor interference which is noticeable on certain analog channels and some digital channels wont work properly with it if their is noise on the line.

    Contrary to the above...

First, Commscope and Belden are two of the most expensive out there along with Times Fiber, third of the top three suppliers.

Second, Perfect 10, the biggest dealer of DBS installation supplies, gets their cable from China.

Third, sweep testing is horsehockey for the easily impressed. You can sweep test a Gilbert Ultraseal compression fitting and show excellent results all the way to many many Ghz but does that help you? No, you're worried about the construction of the cable only insofar as the signals you are concerned with.

Fourth, as long as the cable has at least two layer shielding, and copper coated steel stinger, you're fine. Recommended is the higher-quality quad shield. Perfect 10 likes to push pure copper for the stinger, but it is a case of chasing diminishing returns.
