View Full Version : WXPX PAX CH66 To Be Added in Tampa, FL
Don't know if this is old news to some of you...I do a lot of work at the PAX Network Operations Center, which is located near Clearwater, FL. I was talking to the head of operations there last week, and he told me that all the ground work had been laid. They should be adding WXPX PAX channel 66 to the line-up within days.
WXPX is now carrying many of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays games live, and I guess enough people have complained to Dish. It's the ONLY local channel in the Tampa Bay market that Dish doesn't currenetly have on its line-up.

Dish has an agreement in place with Pax so that, instead of carrying the individual station feeds, they would carry the Nationwide feed. That's why the local station wasn't carried.

Wasn't that JUST the PAX O&O stations?
Z'Loth that is correct, but I'm not sure what has changed - other than some folks here in Tampa want to see their Devil Rays in action and can't do that via the national feed. I can't imagine how that alone would have caused Dish to agree to put up the local PAX channel (WXPX - as the name indicates - is an O&O station), but oh well!

They better hurry, the baseball seasons ticking away.....,
Id guess they'll put WXPX 66 on 61.5 with the other Tampa
locals.

Tim, my thanks to PAX for having the games on the NOC Mux on AMC 1 for us FTA viewers. :)

It's reported that WXPX is uplinked now (not sure if available to mere mortals yet) :
ch 8703 WXPX PAX 66 Bradenton/Tampa/St Petersburg, FL
Guess it's time to ask DISH to add Washington D.C. Channel 66 (WPXW) to the locals, so I can see Orioles OTA games ... nice to see that Dish will add a local PAX, even though they don't have to.

Is this one available to Subscribers yet - ch 8703 (WXPX)?
Anyone in the area knows?
Supposed to be available now maybe (or today anyhow - as per Chat's announcement), but some reports are saying that it is not available to Subscribers yet/still
