Or why do you keep AT150? Are there certain channels or shows you can't miss? Or is it the total package...movie channels, National Geographic, etc... that keeps you subscribing?

I enjoy National Geographic, DIY, VH1 Classic, and the Hitline mono audio channel sometimes.
"Why do you keep AT150?"
Because I have no concept of the value of a dollar.

Because, at the time I signed up (September, 2001), the Action channel was showing a lot more anime than it does now, plus my mom watches some of the old sitcoms on the Hallmark channel. Since I have a price freeze in effect until May, 2003, I kept the package as-is because any changes would result in paying the new fees.

Probably because of the movie channels, Discovery Wings, VH1 Classic, some others. Those are the only channels that (I think) are part of the 150 that I watch regularly.

VHI classic and Boomerang. (I think Boomerang is part of that package.)

Because, without SoapNet, my wife would actually have to talk to me in the evening.

We needed Soapnet because the dishPlayer kept dumping all the wife's shows.
The kids love Boomerang, Discovery Kids, Nick GAS
DIY and History International for me.

Without AT!50 there would be no Everything Pak, and then I couldn't brag about having everything!

Because when it first came out is was a good value. The Movie Channel has a good move on once in a while, I have a daily date at 6PM for Metal Mania on VH-1 Classic and Discovery Times is now a decent channel with stuff I'm actually interested in. Other then that I don't watch much on the extra channels in AT150.
I hate commercials and at least their are 9 movie channels with AT150, even if most of the movies they play are crap. It's better than watching Shawshank on TNT for the six-thousanth time with 268 commercials dragging the movie out to 4 hours long with all the rated PG stuff bleeped or edited out. I can't afford the real movie channel packages.

My sister gets the AT150 because it is a back door into Showtimes movie offerings. (She has HBO also) They hit Showtime first usually and then drift over to The Movie channel a few months later (a la Cinemax). Encore also has a lot of uncut 80's movies which is a draw. Add in VH1 Classic and BAM POW ZOWIE The Action Channel and she's hooked.
As for me, I like having access to EVERYTHING so there is always something good on somewhere. Usually the summertime is the time I use these channels the most as the broadcast networks' content dries up until September....

Boomerang. They have some great classics on there. (I wish they had more 80s stuff like Inspector Gadget.)

I just asked myself the same question and dumped the AEP for AT100 HBO and Shotime. Saving a lot each month. I don't miss any of the 50 extra channels.
DIY, and something else my wife likes, not sure. I guess the occasional decent movie on encore is cool, and VH 1 classic

For me one channel. OLN in July. The coverage of the Tour de France is worth every penny for the rest of the year.
I like getting the Encore Themes and the other movie channels in it. I also like the whole Discovery group of channels. My wife likes the DIY and the other home improvement type channels.
VH-1 Classic is another one of the channels I "need".

I've been watching a lot of Discovery/Times lateley... very good programming on there. Plus VH-1 Classic, and Game Show Network.

Discovery Science is the big draw for me. Beyond that, Fox Movies and History International are big draws. I thought the Encore channels would be a big draw, but I don't watch them all that much.
See ya
Tony
Because I want every possible channel in the world at my fingertips.
AEP for all the Discoverys, especially WINGS, HI and movies, movies, movies! It's all free anyways so why not. How, you ask, do I, a satellite 'god', get AEP free? Simple. I no longer go to the theater or rent movies. I actually save much more than the cost of AEP every month.
Plus, I have locals from THREE cities, two on cable :( and THE OXYGEN CHANNEL which I never watch. Even Charlie doesn't get Savannah GA. HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! (evil laughter)
I WANT IT ALL!!!!! I'VE GOT IT ALL!!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA! (more evil laughter) :D :D :Dn

I occasionally watch the Encore channels(though not as often as I would have expected) and the Movie Channel. With Discovery Times, History International, and National Geographic as well, there is a good variety of worthwhile programs that I feel is worth the extra $10(especially during the summer months, when the broadcast fare worth watching is almost non-existent).

I had to drop down to Top 100, however I'm finding that I'm missing a lot.
For the kids, Boomerang
For the wife, Hallmark
For me, Encore Themes
History International
Discovery Themes
Biography
Fox Sports World (sometimes)

The deeper question is: Why can't we get AT200? http://servicedesk.dbstalk.com/AT200.htm

I'm surprised more people haven't listed National Geographic as one of the main reasons for an AT150 sub. It was either on a Charlie Chat or posted here that National Geographic was the most requested channel for Dish to add to their lineup. Although I think most people posting in this thread had AT150 long before National Geographic was offered.
I mainly watch the following AT150 channels:
Biography
History Intl.
Fox Sports World
Boomerang (kids)
Soapnet (wife)
Bloomberg
**Wish I could watch:
College Sports TV
FSW2 (for the Multi-sport pacakge)
**And for the wife and kids, add
Oxygen
PBS Kids
