Is Channel 498 still valid?

I'm trying to chase the 771 problem and am checking on some of the basics. A sticky on basic setup says check on 498. When I do I get "channel not available". Have things changed?

Try 480 & 481 to test the BBCs. And 490 thru 494 to test seeing the sats.
