I wonder if I will ever get my 508

I ordered it on April 30 a Wednesday. I was told I would recive it in 3-5 business days. My credit card was charged immediately but the unit was not shipped until Tuesday the 5th----4 business days later. At that time I was told I would see it on Friday but they were unable to give me a UPS tracking number.

On Friday when I got home I saw no reciver. I called DISH. No they suddenly could give me a UPS number. UPS said it was out on the truck to be delivered.

At 7PM I called UPS. They said that yes it was out on a truck but that it would not be delivered after 7 PM. They also said that they would not deliver the item until Monday unless the shipper requested otherwise.

I called DISH and was told they cannot so anythiung. They also said that xince I had received the unit at "great savings" I should be happy whenever it comes. They diid offer to put a notation on my account. When I asked what this would do they said that anyone who looked at my account would know I complained.

Geez!

Sometimes they will put notes on the account against you as well. I know from experience with customers.

I would ask for something for the trouble, like a free month of HBO or something, I have done this for customers before. How much did you get the 508 for?

They indicates to me that the price I received was compensation enough. That I would get nothing else. As for a notation AGAINST me well if they want to they can.

Anyway iwas just blowing off steam. I don't expect the forum to do much. In fact I have considered removing the post as it serves no useful purpose.

I had the opposite experience. Ordered at the end of one week, had an installer here on Tuesday. He was late...but, for $199 I still had an installed 508.


I hear your frustration though...bad customer service is a drag.

I received it yesterday---after a UPS mixip on Friday. Unfortunately no remote. I borrowed one from a neighbor to get the unit set up but it sure would be nice to be able to use the darned thing. Oh well.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Geronimo. Back when I bit on the 501 special for $199, I called on a Wednesday evening and was told I could have it installed on Saturday! I about fell out of the chair.

Sure enough, he showed up and he even called because he was running 2 hours late (he had 2 horribly difficult new installs). He finally showed up at 4:45 and was out of there by 5 since I had everything ready for him. All he had to do was unbox it and start the software downloading. I told him I would take it from there.

I also showed him my 6000, it was the first one he had ever seen and he was totally blown away by the PQ.

I ordered mine on a Saturday and they offered an install on the following Monday. I was quite impressed, especially with the coupon price.
