It will definitely be MPEG4. It may be on D10, D11, SW1 or SW2. Johnstown-Altoona, PA's HD locals were just added in August 2008, but they are broadcast from SW1.

A note of caution. Fox 55 is off the air(analog) right now. Apparently they are having problems with all of their signals, including the direct feed to cable and the satellite companies, according to their website. They might not be back on the air before tomorrow morning.

well since I do not have HD again until Friday I dunno. zip code search on locals available states we have them in HD. Hope they turn em on as planned!

Oops, They are in HD. I was looking for 7.1, 9.1, 12.1 and 55.1. They are there but no ".1" after them. Fox 55 is broadcasting at this time.

I am getting a signal on 55. I am not sure if it is NY 5. Channel 9 audio is way off the video and very "jerky"

lol mike...I moved down under. Well gee if 9 has issues that sucks, Ch 12 has never been right on the 72*. Was so hoping for perfection from Directv...It's just a dream! So they are on I take it. I await.

Great news. I could not get Fox in HD until today. All channels look good. I guess I won't need a bigger antenna on my roof. All audio and video is fine on my end. They must have taken care of any issues.

7, 9, 12, 20, & 55 are all working fine here. Nice improvement over the abysmal quality that some of the SD LILs had...channel 12 ;). I'm still going to miss Supernatural in HD on the CW though.

I went home for lunch and checked them out. The digital all looks very good for me too. Nothing was in HD though while I was home.

I have to admit that I was really surprised that we got our locals now when they weren't even on the list just a month ago. Great going DirecTV™!!:lol::lol:

I too was surprised to see this happen, after not seeing
any indication that these locals would be available from Directv
in HD. I have kept just the HD tier with Charter, just so I could get the locals in HD. Thank you Directv.....

I briefly checked the guide on Directv.com and could not find any shows on Fox that had the "HD" logo after it. Does Fox have anything in HD?

Fox is only in HD via Charter and now directv. OTA it is not and is work in progress. Currently a fiber cable uplinks it to charter and directv and you have HD. So maybe we will have a guide issue due to the odd set up.

I'll have to check tonight. Even the guide on the TV does not have Fox shows in HD.

Are any of these stations broadcasting 5.1 audio? I watched Lost the other day & noticed that the DirecTV feed was Dolby 2.0 only.

Am absolutely stunned about locals in high def as I had no idea that this was coming! Super Bowl tomorrow will no doubt be gorgeous! And I thought those of us in the northwoods would be last if ever to get locals in high def. Of course, the price for DTV is going up in March so I won't be so inclined to grumble. After 3 yrs of service, I finally get what was 'hinted' in March of '06 as 'coming soon'!

7 and 55 have been in DD 5.1. Still looking at the others. I don't think I have ever seen 12 or 9 in DD5.1 on the antenna.

There is no DD 5.1 on 12 or 9. They said it is coming but do not have a timetable yet. Yesterday would be fine with me!
