Yeah, I know, who knows, depends on what is on the truck:grin:
However,
If I upgrade to HD and get a Slimline SL3, are they more likely to install a WB68 or SWM5?
I figured if it was a matter or ugrading 1 more IRD, to be all SWM capable and have no legacy and they were not installing SWM-line this would sway thier decision
Thoughts, TIA

I believe the SWM installs are still only for new customers at this point so you will probably get an WB68.
If some how you did get an SWM setup it would be a SWMLine dish, not SWM multi-switch.
Also the SWM5 has not been in productions for a very long time so I doubt you will ever see one of those. You could purchase an SWM8.

Kinda thought that, but got an issue where I can't run extra DVR coax to 2 addl rooms, {finished basement]
I do see descriptions of the SWM5. but never heard of anyone mentioning it being installed:nono2:
Hoping for the SWM-line but trying to plan in advance

you can always upgrade yourself or have a SWMLNB ready in case the tech refuses. Cash might convince a tech.

The guiding wisdom nowadays is that DirecTV is reserving SWM-8 installs for MDU's. Apparently early on in the field testing some folks did get SWM-5/-8 installs but lately the trend seems to be SWM LNB for single family homes. Sounds like you're upgrading your dish from an old 3LNB to a Slimline to capture the full HD. If that's true you have a pretty good chance of catching a SWM LNB. Of course, with the cold weather problems experienced with one brand/manufacturer of SWM LNB I can't say that's a for sure especially up your way. Since I had a perfectly good functioning Slimline I went with a SWM-8 but that was on my own dime as I couldn't get DirecTV to upgrade my LNB and they were not supporting the SWM-8 for single family homes.

I would be willing to go that route, but
I may have a line of sight issue with the new sats and only have one placement choice:grin: and they won't confirm till day of install
May get LOS now with no foliage, but may have to wait:mad:
