Eliminating Commercials with the HDVR2

With the Direct TV TIVO HDVR2 unit, is it possible to instantly byass recorded commercials?  The DISH PVR units have a 30 second instant advance; hence to skip 2 minutes of commercials, just hit the button 4 times rapidly and you'll instantly bypass 2 minutes of advertisements without ever having to look at them.  Is this possible with the Hughes HDVR2 unit?  By reading the manual, it looks like you can fast forward over the commercials by hitting the FF button, but you still have to look at the commercials at high speed similar to using an old VCR.  What's the answer?

You can implement the 30 second skip if you do:
Play something recorded.
Enter Select, Play, Select, 3, 0, Select. You should hear 3 dongs.
The skip forward key now will do 30 second advance ->|
This mod will undo itself if your receiver resets. You also can use the normal skip forward function if you first engage fast forward then the skip forward key.

P.S. The 30 is the only number acceptable in the sequence so you can't change the advance time by changing 30 to something else.
