Will there be a new HD receiver to be paired with the "SupperDish"? Will it be the 921 or the 811 or is the 6000 still going to be the only HD receiver? There is all of this talk of SuperDish and 50 HDTV channels but there is no commitment to a release date of a new receiver or even that one that has been started to be manufactured. This is all hypothetical!

The DishPro 811 is going to be the replacement for the 6000 receiver although I think the 6000 will work on the SuperDish unless the SuperDish will have all DishPro lnbf's and switching on it then the customers that had bought the 5000 just to have to buy the 6000 and switch the adapter would get highly ticked off just to have to buy an 811. A solution would be the DishPro adapter which would be a lot less expensive. There would, of course, be the cost of the SuperDish again unless they have some type of promotion.

Once again it looks like there is another investment that may have to be made for those that want HD channels but I think this time it will be a while before there will have to be any great investment needed as I think the 811 may be around for a while.

What I want is something tangible. The 921 was supposted to be out a year ago. Now the SuperDish is announced to be out this summer. But we don't even know if it will work with the 6000. Nothing has even been announced about the release of the 811. Who knows when the 921 will be released? This could all be some more of the same dissapointment. A marketing ploy to keep subs. I have no doubt that the SuperDish will be out. I am very doubtful as to when it will actually be functional.

Raymond,

The Superdish will work with the 6000. Dish Network has said so -- you will not need to replace your receiver.

Whether a DishPro adapter is required remains unclear. Someone else reporting from Team Summit said the 6000 with 8PSK would support "Dish Pro Plus" without an adapter; it is quite possible that at least one version of the Superdish will use Dish Pro Plus.

So either the 8PSK adapter has dishpro adapter built into it or more likely they will have a legacy and dishpro SuperDish.
