Another 501 bites the dust!

Well, here we go again, only 6 months this time, as opposed to the 15 months I got with my first. It was all the usual signal drops, aquiring signals etc. It finally got so bad today, that I called, went through all the steps; so they are going to send me a new one. (or should I say refurbished)

I hope the 921 won't fail like this. My son has 25 hours of Spongebob on here, you should have seen his face when I told him he was going to lose them.:mad:

The thing that burns me is it sounds like from all other posts about this problem, is that it is the tuner, and not the hard drive. Whats so hard about making a reliable tuner!?

Its a wonder your first one lasted for 15 months. I would not buy a 921 if I were you until several months later when you can see if others have had problems with the 921.

When is Dish going to get their act straight. Aint it more expensive replacing and fixing these receivers than spending a little more on the tuners in the first place?

Their hard drive have had some reliability issues as well in the 501/508 but not sure about the 721.
