View Full Version : Stacking SWMs

I have an "old" Slimline that I run with "2 wires" to several receivers. (1H20 that is going away soon and 1 HR20)

I also have a SWM5 LNB dish that I run from splitters to several receivers (1 wire). It feeds 2 HR20s and 1 HR22.

That puts me 1 "over". Since the H20 will likely be replaced with an HR2x fairly soon, that will put me 2 over on the SWM5.

I put my SWM5 up on a post and I hate the looks of it. I would like to do away with one dish or the other but I obviously need > 8 tuners supported.

What's my CHEAPEST and easiest hussle to support everything with one LNB assembly (which) and multiswitches and.or splitters? The newer additions only have one wire to the rooms so I'd like for running a second wire to these rooms to not be an option. :)

Thanks!

the way to do it with one dish is to run 2 swm's in parallel or a swm and a wb68 in parallel with 4 wideband splitters, oh yeah, you need a lnb with 4 outputs, not a swm lnb.

Thanks Dave. I was afraid that was the answer. More $$ to spend.

I may just live with what I have.

Thanks!

you could always just put another swm lnb on your second dish, since you already have 2 dishes

Yea but the whole point was to try to get rid of one of the dishes. I have plenty of connectivity with what I have. I just have too many dishes on my roof. It's unsightly to me. :(
